When I’m not designing architecture, home objects and furniture, you can find me somewhere in America traveling in our adventure van. Traveling, sketching, and connecting with people generates ideas that I incorporate into my design work. I have run the gamut in my practice, formerly Bauen Group Architecture, LLC. The largest our firm ever got was six people. Karen (my wife of 34 years) and I decided that on January 1, 2021, after 32 years of self-employment, we would reduce the firm to just the two of us, change the name for a fresh start to Tommy Tsunami Design, LLC, and I would limit my workload to allow more time for things like; finally finishing our house, building stain glass windows, (used to do earlier in my career) and continuing my welding habit. I’ve come to the conclusion that ‘retirement’ is not on my horizon as I have come to realize that I still love what I do.
